National Council for Vocational Training and Research (NCVRT) is a Central Board established under the article 29 & 30(1) Constitution of India and legally incorporated under Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India & offering certified skill programs under Additional Skill Qualification Training Programme (ASQTP) in the form of value-added courses / self-employment courses for the people living in both rural and urban areas. Courses are designed and accredited by International Quality Standards for Vocational Education Council (IQSVEC).
Poona Blind Men Association’s HV Desai Eye Hospital came into existence in 2000 in 5-acre land, is a non-government, non-profit, eye care hospital. HVDEH is NABH Accredited specialized eye care service facility located in the city of Pune, Maharashtra. It is a comprehensive eye care institute, providing tertiary eye care at the base hospital with a strong community outreach program, and is also recognized for its postgraduate and paramedical training programs.
We are committed to ensuring each student has a positive learning experience and undoubtedly benefits from our core strengths in practical session excellence in Optometry, Nursing, Community and contemporary knowledge, skills & techniques needed to develop a successful career in Healthcare industry. The completed form, along with attested copies of all necessary documents should be submitted to the course coordinator before the cut-off time on the date mentioned on the application form.

All students admitted to the institute will be governed by the rules and regulations that are prescribed from time to time.
The working hours of college are from 8.30 AM to 4.30:00 PM. However, during the final year as the students are posted for internship in different speciality clinics and outpatient procedures, the timing will depend on the host clinical schedule. Punctuality and attendance will be considered for evaluations.
All the students should, compulsorily, possess a retinoscope and an ophthalmoscope, before the first semester of the second year begins.
Students are advised to give prior information to the college authorities about their leave/ permission, failing which strict disciplinary action will be taken against them. Medical certificate should to be given, acquired from a Registered Medical Practitioner, in the case where leave is taken for more than two days’ duration.
Allotted holidays will be specified in the institution’s calendar. The Principal/Director holds the final authority to declare holiday on any other circumstances. The students are requested to contact the office for further information.
Each student will be given an identity card, which the students are supposed to wear at all times, while in the campus. Students will not be allowed to enter the college and clinic without their identity card.
The college has its own dress code which is a must for all students. Whenever they attend the college and clinic. Since the students are expected to work, in a professional clinical setting, a formal dress code is mandatory. Use of English language for communication is compulsory.
The third and final year students are given a chance to observe and perform community vision screening/eye care awareness creation activities through various scheduled programs.
The students will not be allowed to appear for the examination unless he/she has attended 80% of the lectures, demonstrations & practicals. The Management has the jurisdiction, to change or modify the rules and regulations, as and when deemed necessary, in order to maintain steadfast excellence in the course.
The management, reserves the right, to take strict disciplinary action, against the students for their misconduct and subordination.
Dr. Kuldeep Dole completed his MBBS & MS (ophthal.) from Pune University in 1997 & 2000 respectively.
He joined H.V. Desai Eye Hospital in 2001 and at present is working in the institute as Medical Director and Head of the Community Ophthalmology Department.
Dr. Dole has extensive experience in premium cataract phaco surgery procedures and has performed more than 10000 cataract surgeries successfully.
In 2002 – 03, he completed masters in Community Eye Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London in 2002-2003.
He has worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Mwanza, Tanzania in 2002 and had an . opportunity to work at Tel Aviv University, Israel in the Medical Retina Department in 2005.
Dr. Dole is the Secretary of the Ethics Committee of the organization. He is a technical advisor to Lions Clubs International Foundation’s Sight First program for western and northern India.
As a faculty, Dr. Dole teaches the post-graduate students for DNB. He has been involved in various doctor-training programs; which include SICS phacoemulsification training, teaching programs for DNB students and fellows at H.V.Desai Eye Hospital.
Dr. Dole has several presentations and publications in prestigious journals to his credit.
Consultant Ophthalmologist in Cataract, Medical Retina, Glaucoma, ROP
She completed her long term Glaucoma Fellowship from National Institute of ophthalmology, her General Ophthalmology Fellowship and Medical Retina fellowship from H. V. Desai Eye Hospital, and joined H. V. Desai Eye Hospital as a consultant.
She worked as Glaucoma consultant at National Institute of Ophthalmology and has been a sub – investigator for several clinical trials.

She is the Principal of the Optometry College.
Dr. Kalyani is recognized as a Post Graduate Teacher for DNB and has many presentations and publications.
She has been a principal investigator for several clinical trials, and entrusted in various doctor-training programs; which includes SICS, phacoemulsification training, teaching programs for DNB students and fellows at H.V.Desai Eye Hospital .

Dr. Vidya is recognized as a post-graduate teacher for DNB and has many presentations at various national and international meets and publications to her credit. She has been a principal investigator for several clinical trials and is interested in various doctor-training programs; which include SICS phacoemulsification training, teaching programs for DNB students and fellows at H. V. Desai Eye Hospital.
She is a member of the Glaucoma Society of India and the All India Ophthalmological Society.
