Long Term Fellowships

Objective

The fellowship aims at detailed training in medical and surgical management of all kinds of glaucoma. To learn OPD diagnostic skills and investigations like perimetry and OCT To diagnose and manage common glaucoma To be able to perform laser PI for indicated cases To learn medical management of glaucoma To learn surgical management of glaucoma (Indications, procedure and complications of glaucoma surgeries)

  2. Postgraduate students

For both, candidates should have good cataract surgery skills.

Month Course

Ophthalmologist with some experience in glaucoma management including surgery. The course is designed for strengthening their diagnostic, medical and surgical management skills in glaucoma.

Short Term Observership

Objective

The short term observership is designed to provide exposure to all facets of glaucoma diagnosis and management with an emphasis on learning the diagnostic techniques and their clinical correlation.

  1. Postgraduates (M.S, DNB, DOMS) in ophthalmology,
  2. Comprehensive ophthalmologists without a formal training in glaucoma.
  1. To learn OPD diagnostic skills and investigations like perimetry and OCT in glaucoma,
  2. To understand approach to diagnosis and initial medical and laser management of simple cases of glaucoma,

  3. Candidate will also obtain wet – lab training for trabeculectomy.

  1. Ophthalmologists (M.S, DNB, DOMS),

  1. To learn basic diagnostic skills including perimetry and OCT in diagnosis of glaucoma,
  2. To understand approach to diagnosis and initial medical management of simple cases of glaucoma.

Week Observership

  1. Ophthalmologists already in glaucoma practice,
  2. Post graduate students and post graduates in training.

Selected candidates can opt for any one of the 3 modules.

  1. Perimetry, OCT interpretation,
  2. Applanation, tonometry, gonioscopy and disc evaluation,
  3. Wet- lab training for trabeculectomy.
